MR2 TRILOGY PROJECT
I bought this MR2 Mk3, or otherwise known as the MR2 Roadster, as a project in February 2023. The car was first registered in January 2005 and it is the Red Special Edition. This came with red leather seats, red and black leather steering wheel and a red convertible roof. The car has a solid body, however it looks very tired in its appearance, with a cracked rear bumper, torn roof, a few dents and dull paint. Here I document the work done to bring it back to its former glory and keeping it as close to factory standard.
Body Work
Misty Headlights restored to crystal clear again
Cracked Rear bumper repaired with plastic welding, filling and painting
Original TTE (Toyota Team Europe) spoiler sourced, refurbished and fitted to the car
Damaged Convertible Roof replaced with new one custom made by an old school master down in rainy Swansea
Damaged front fog lights replaced with combined running/fog lights
Plastic Engine cover cleaned and repainted
