I bought this MR2 Mk2 as a project in February 2015. It is the Rev 5 version, first registered in 1999, and it is the last version before the Mk3 Roadster. The car has a good bodywork and engine, however after 103000 miles and a bit of neglect from previous owners, needed some attention. With the help of my father in law Dave, we have undertaken the transformation of the car. The first thing we did was to give it a good clean, inside out, as the car must have been sitting under a tree for some time. The paint was a bit dull and the engine bay and boot were covered in dirt and green sap. The car was washed, and polished. The front bumper, rear bumper, driver's side rear wheel arch and front bonnet had some superficial paint damage, so these were professionaly resprayed. Then the car had a good service; engine oil, differential oil, distributor cap and rotor arm were all changed. The rest of the work is recorded with photographs in the sections below. A number of modifications were done to this car to make it more appealing in its appearance for me, so it is not factory standard.
